This is my interpretation of what a District 9 alien's helmet would look like. I tried to avoid that Star Wars look, and keep that simple and more mechanical look that was given with the Exosuits. An air filter, HUD, and even holes for the antennae are present. The eyes are covered by a composite alloy that is shatterproof, and the HUD screen flips up and down, allowing visability without it. I added a cloth collar to the helmet, being I would hope the warrior would try to cover as much as possible. The object below is a plate protector, and it's job is to help protect the neck and the exoskeletal plates on the back of the neck. The emblem on this is the only alien insignia that is shown in the movie when they enter the ship, so I am just taking a guess that it is their symbol, like the American flag is to the USA.
I am practicing this for a new alien named Corey Xavier, otherwise called Blade by the humans. His nickname says a lot about him... he loves knives. He's also quite outgoing to say the least, and even decorates his armor with designs, which gets him in trouble with his mentors a few times.
And also: there is already a canon design for "Prawn"/"Poleepkwa" helmets. It can be spotted in the deleted scenes and in the interviews.
Mmmwahahaha... now I can design a new suit for them! Oops! Did you hear my evil laugh
Anyways, The helmet looks awesome, but I'll trash the spacesuit, and give them some real armor... nanofiber technology and all (I love science and its benefits)!
Also, Which space suit are you talking about? I'm currently working on a fan-guide to the technology of the prawns. I've collected a rather large amount of images and information for this guide, and any other bit of information helps.
CAN I SEE THE GUIDE WHEN YOU FINISH!!?? <Puppy eyes>
Don't worry, once the guide is done, I will be posting it on the web
Thanks for the heads up!
